Teaching Science and Math in English

Our not so bright cabinet had decided to revert the teaching of math and science to Bahasa Melayu or mother tongue. I was so curious why are they so naive that thinking using bahasa or mother tongue (mandarin, tamil) is an action that show them love their language. do they know that their action will cause our next generation to be pulled back to compete with other countries. while they were proposing this idea, most of them are sending their children to study in some international schools which are using english as the medium of teaching. how many ministers sending their children to local university? yes, they are right. we still can have a lot of doctors with teaching math and science in bahasa. but compare with other countries, are they that outstanding?

they said that the result of teaching science and math in english is not up to expectation, so they wan to revert to BM. come on, how can you see the outcome with only 6 years spent? how many years had be used to produce proton saga and develop the automobile industry in malaysia? now is about education, 6 years is not enough to judge the outcome.

i still remembered that when teaching science and math in english was first introduced, i was so happy. i felt that our next generation has the hope to compete with others. now what? please, dont be silly. with this so bright decision had been made. i see that m'sia is not moving on but stepping back to 20th century.
